About Alaska Pollock (Theragra Chalcogramma)

Alaska pollock can reach a little less than a meter in lenght, a kilo and a half in weight and 15 years of age.

They are generally demersal but sometimes near the surface. Perform diurnal vertical migrations.

Alaska pollock have a relatively low, minimum population doubling time of 4.5 - 14 years.

 

 

 

Diet

Feeds on fishes and crustaceans, mainly on krill

Use

Marketed frozen and processed into fillets, blocks and surimi. Eaten steamed, sautéed and microwaved.
